Pricing
How our pricing works
No parts markup, a posted labor rate, and every charge itemized. Here's exactly how an estimate is built.
Parts
We do not add a markup to the cost of parts. The parts line on your estimate is what we pay our supplier for that part. Shipping and refundable core charges, when they apply, are shown as separate lines at cost.
Labor: hours × posted rate
Labor is calculated as estimated labor hours multiplied by our posted hourly rate. Estimated hours come from our standard times for each job and are adjusted for your specific vehicle when we review your request.
Shipping and core charges
Parts shipping is billed at our actual cost, with no markup.
Core charges are billed at the supplier's amount and credited if the supplier refunds the core.
Sales tax
California sales tax applies to taxable items such as parts. Separately stated repair labor is generally not taxable. Your estimate shows the taxable items and the tax amount.
Preliminary estimates vs. official quotes
When you request an estimate online, we try to calculate a preliminary price range from your vehicle and repair details, reference parts prices, and estimated labor times. The range runs 25% below to 25% above that calculated figure. If we don't have reliable data for your vehicle or repair, we won't guess — a technician prices it instead.
A preliminary range is not an official quote. A technician reviews every request and follows up with an itemized official quote. No work is done until you authorize it, and any additional work requires your separate authorization.
